Supervising. Seven years of Forest Management, inventories and planning including reforestation supervising in Forest Owners Association in Finland (74–80).

Teaching. Conducting training courses for Finnish forest owners in various fields of forestry (8184).

Coordinating. Technical director and teacher in international courses; Improving skills in the planning, implementation and evaluation of teaching sessions related 

to wood harvesting and sawmilling technology (83–94).

Teacher of forest machinery in agricultural school in Finland (95). Training courses in Mozambique, South East Asia and elsewhere in the tropics. Creating well 

documented production instructions, guidebooks, training and other information materials in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Work demonstrations, (FAO, The Philippines).

Rural development. Improving villagers’ living standards in pilot areas through village forestry and village development projects, ability to manage forest through 

extensive training, consult and develop land use and guide forest concessions in logging operations. Advance of socio-economic and land tenure issues. Designing and 

manufacturing appropriate hand tools and implements (sulky) locally, strengthening the use of animals for wood harvesting operations (Central Africa, 85 – 94).

Guidance work for a loan program to provide micro-credit for women in Nicaragua and Honduras to establish small businesses.1996-97, 2000,01,

Survey. Planning economically and environmentally sound forest utilization including knowledge of basic survey measurement techniques, GIS, forest inventories and 

management plans for sustainable forest exploitation (CA 1996-2002).

Wood Supply. Creating appropriate wood harvesting systems for sawmills. (Zambia -85–90, 93, 94) Logging, transporting; Environmental sound, productive logging with 

personal safe (CA, 9697): Steer and co-ordinate the work in the region and support the development of cost efficient and ecologically sustainable wood procurement.

Sawmilling. Practice and machinery technology (Finland, CA, Chile, Central Africa, SA, Fiji, 69 - present). Involve local participation in ongoing wood refining. (Fiji 90). 

Nursery work. Establishment of nursery for a two millions seedling, workers´ training for nursery management (Ecuador -93).

Wood energy.  Improving of the utilization rate in charcoal production (carbon in Costa Rica -90, carvao in Mozambique -00).  Investigation of wood harvesting methods 

to use forest as a renewable energy source in developing countries. (Shell Co. London -98)

Research. Elaborate and generate different feasibility-studies, cost calculations, evaluations  and investigations. (Malaysia, Finland, Nicaragua, Mozambique)

Forest Practice Code Development; Draft of Forestry Code produced for forest practices in Mongolia, Central-America. Further revision of China draft code. 

Village-based forest management. Improving and developing community-based, sustainable low-intensity forest harvesting practices for natural tropical forests providing 

benefit to the local village economies. (Laos -98).

Developing a Forest Stewardship Plan: The Key to Forest Management, Forest Certification examination with Inderfor in Argentina 2000, 

including forest work safety and ergonomics in big wood harvesting companies.

During three years 1999-2002, introduction and implementation of appropriate methods in a participatory way for establish sustainable village based forest management 

practices to improve of forest resource utilisation in Nicaragua and Mozambique including carpentry work in solid wood furniture factories and courses.

 A review of harvesting and timber handling practices in Tropical High Forest of Uganda 2003

Assistance to Uruguay National Code of Forest Practices, Uruguay 2003. Formulation of  EU-financed  (8.5 M€) Forest-Industrial Project, Argentina 2003.
